Each Chapter of the American Guild of Organists maintains an active Substitute list of chapter members denoting what days of the week they are available and their contact numbers and the denominations which they prefer to engage.

Employers can seek the help of Carole Fanslow, Placement Services, in securing a list of possible substitutes that they can contact and engage as needed. In most cases the employer or the musician will determine the appropriate compensation amount for substitute engagements. Usual parameters include separate rehearsal or warm-up only, number of services, service music only, with soloist, with choir, regular service or special event or holiday.
Being Added to the Substitute List
Musicians that would like to be placed on the Chapter's Substitute list must first be a member of the chapter. Musicians can join the chapter through the ONCARD system available at the National American Guild of Organists site www.agohq.org.
