Service Exam Workshop Series

The Greater Bridgeport Chapter is pleased to offer ongoing workshops to help members to prepare for taking the  American Guild of Organists Service Playing Certificate. The small group classes will be taught by Bridgeport chapter member, organist, Jay Lindsay and will address the various requirements for the exam. Please contact Dottie Cameron  or Jay Lindsay if you are interested in being a part of this educational practice group.

This event is open to all AGO members at no charge. There will be multiple classes offered during 2018.   While the content is focused on helping members prepare for the AGO certification exam, you are welcome to attend the class without taking the exam. You may attend any/all classes that you would like, as they have robust stand-along content, and can be customized by the attendees of any particular class.

What is the AGO Service Playing Certificate?

Each year, many AGO members receive certification of their service playing skills with the Service Playing Test. The Service Playing Certificate is recognized by many churches and employers as a guarantee of proficiency at the organ and brings organists many professional benefits. The test is entirely practical, and the required skills come into play at the worship service(s) you play each week.
