Sunday, October 18, 2015, 4:00 PM – 14th Annual Pipescreams Concert - United Congregational Church, Bridgeport, John Michniewicz/Frank Martignetti, hosts – reception. Costumes encouraged. Prizes for best costumes. Annual Halloween musical extravaganza this year with 150+ singers in 6 choral groups. 4-Heart Harmony, SHU Supermen (Mens Vocal Ensemble) and SHU LOVE (Ladies Only Vocal Ensemble) all from the Sacred Heart University; the University Singers and Chamber Singers, both from the University of Bridgeport, and the Norma Pfriem Children's Choir. Musicians include Dr. John Michniewicz, Galen Tate, David Harris, Frank Martignetti, Dr. Joe Utterback, Dr. Aymeric Dupre la Tour, Jay Lindsey.
Sunday, November 8, 2015, 4:00 PM - Music at the Meetinghouse: Celebration of the Life of Paul E. Knox - First Church Congregational, Fairfield, Aymeric Dupre la Tour, host - reception. This very special musical celebration honors Dr. Paul E. Knox that passed away earlier this year. Fellow church musicians, instrumentalists, singers, have volunteered their time to make this a spectacular musical treat. Performers include Dr. Aymeric Dupre, Dr. John Michniewicz, Galen Tate, Dr. Joe Utterback, Dr. Paul Jacobson, and many more. The featured piece will be the Bach Cantata #80, Ein Feste Burg with soloists, orchestra and choir.
Sunday, January 10, 2016, 5:00 PM – Epiphany Party – Home of Juliann Janowski, 9 Shadowood Lane, Trumbull; snow date Sunday, January 17, 2016. Executive Board Meeting at 3:30 PM. Annual favorite to toast in the new year and perform for each other.
Saturday, April 9, 2016, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Leading Community Singing - University of Bridgeport - Gallery & Recital Hall – A workshop for choral directors to bring home a fresh repertoire of great arrangements of a wide range of traditional American secular and sacred songs, including African American gospel and spirituals, old and new American shape note pieces, newly composed pieces and old hymns. Frank Martignetti - host.
Sunday, June 12, 2016, 4:00 PM Member's Concert/Annual Dinner – First Church Congregational, Norwalk - It is always nice to hear fellow performers play something they enjoy or would like to share with collegues, especially on the 2012 fully restored Austin/52-rank pipe organ. The recital is followed by wine/cheese, dinner and short business meeting and election of officers. Flora Major - host.
Monday, TBD, M. Louise Miller - Paul E. Knox Scholarship Winner Recital/Ice Cream Social - Stay-tuned. We are fortunate to have some exquisite young scholarship winners and we'll try to arrange 2 or 3 of them that have yet to play for the chapter visit and perform at one of our wonderful area pipe organs in an air-conditioned sanctuary too!
